Recently, Runjian Co., Ltd. officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) in Kuala Lumpur to jointly establish an AI Computing Power Alliance, aiming to build a benchmark platform for university computing power sharing, scientific research innovation and talent development for ASEAN. This cooperation marks the official launch of TAR UMT’s first dedicated AI computing center, which will promote AI innovation and facilitate academic research and industrial applications for Malaysian enterprises.

Prof. Dato' Indera Engineer. Dr. Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT, and Ding Yong, Vice President of Runjian and President of AI Business Group, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Prof. Dr. Loke Chui Fong, Vice President of TAR UMT, and Yin Jie, Vice President of Runjian AI Business Group, witnessed the signing ceremony. Prof. Dr. Lim Tong Ming, Dean of Enterprise Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center of TAR UMT, Mr. Novie Tajuddin, CEO of Education Malaysia Global Services, Zhao Hua, President of Runjian Overseas Business Group, Zhou Guanyu, Dean of Runjian Energy Digitalization Research Institute, and other distinguished guests attended the event to witness the launch of the AI Computing Power Alliance.

Prof. Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT, stated that artificial intelligence is profoundly shaping the modern world with rapid innovation. He pointed out that such industrial cooperation is crucial to ensure relevant and strategic knowledge transfer, and empower the university community to achieve innovative and original achievements. TAR UMT’s first AI center will expose students to real AI application scenarios and fully prepare them for a future driven by emerging technologies.

Ding Yong, Vice President of Runjian, further elaborated on the cooperation. He said that Runjian will provide the university with advanced and practical AI technologies to help cultivate market-ready professionals, create value for industries in the region, and jointly boost the innovation and development of China-ASEAN artificial intelligence.

Malaysia is striving to build a digital economy hub in Southeast Asia, where data centers and computing infrastructure have become core pillars of the digital industry. Guided by the government’s green and sustainable development policies, local universities face surging demand for high-performance, green and low-carbon computing power for AI research, teaching and training, while commonly suffering from scattered resources, insufficient supply and limited funding. As a prestigious and comprehensive top university in Malaysia with strong expertise in ICT, engineering and digital innovation, TAR UMT is in urgent need of a stable and efficient computing foundation to support breakthroughs in research and teaching.

As a leading industrial AI model and computing power service provider, Runjian adheres to the strategy of “AI-driven, Green Computing Synergy, Intelligent Services for All Industries” and boasts full-stack AI service capabilities of “Computing Power + Platform + Industrial Applications”. With self-developed Quchi AI Open Platform and Wuxiang Cloud Valley AI Computing Center (certified as a National Green Data Center), Runjian has accumulated mature experience in major projects such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and China-ASEAN AI Computing Center, and its overseas business has deeply covered ASEAN markets including Malaysia and Indonesia.
Under the agreement, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation focusing on three major directions:
- Build a computing power alliance with hybrid distributed and centralized architecture to meet local teaching and data security needs through university distributed nodes, and support large-scale AI training and high-performance computing through centralized computing centers, realizing unified resource scheduling and elastic supply.
- Develop green and low-carbon modular computing power nodes with energy-saving cooling and intelligent power supply technologies, adapting to Malaysia’s tropical climate, reducing PUE and meeting local sustainable development standards for data centers.
- Establish an industry-university-research collaborative platform for AI talent training, curriculum development, internship and practical training, and transformation of scientific research achievements, helping universities break through computing bottlenecks and enhance digital technology innovation capabilities.
This cooperation will effectively fill the computing power gap of universities, promote the in-depth integration of AI with various disciplines, and cultivate more digital talents for Malaysia. Runjian will leverage its advantages in computing construction, green energy conservation and intelligent operation and maintenance to implement mature green computing solutions in Malaysia, empowering ASEAN education and digital industry development with technology.

The strategic cooperation with TAR UMT is an important milestone for Runjian to deepen the ASEAN market and promote the internationalization of computing services. In the future, both parties will continue to deepen collaboration, take the computing power alliance as a carrier to promote efficient interaction of technologies, resources and talents.
